The PTC Group participates in University of St. La Salle Bacolod's Virtual Career Fair

MAY 26, 2023

The Philippine Transmarine Carriers (PTC) Talent Acquisition Group (PTC TAG) received an invite to the University of St. La Salle - Bacolod's Virtual Career Fair last May 26, 2023. With the theme: "Horizon: Traversing Beyond Your Limit”, the event was designed to provide Lasallian graduating students with great opportunities to explore and envision a future that emphasizes the power and influence of new beginnings.

The PTC Group was represented by Arlene Ramirez, PTC-TAG's Sea Mariners Program Manager; Monique Calo, Cabin Crew Training and Sales Manager of PTC Aviation Training Center; and representatives from Health Metrics headed by Sada Prescilla Maglanque, and Daene Lolong.

Thirty (30) companies from various industries ranging from finance, healthcare to technology were present during the virtual career fair. Over 300 USLS students virtually attended and chose the breakout rooms where a group of panelists representing different companies waited. In the rooms, students were able to participate in a mock interview and ask questions, while the company representatives got a chance to meet the students, promote their respective brands and share their field of expertise.

PTC TAG believes that activities such as this will pave the way to attract skilled workers who can be the future talents of the PTC Group. “I am happy that we have been receiving more and more invitations to participate in school activities such as this because through these activities we are able to promote the PTC brand and showcase the vast opportunities open to future talents” said Capt. Ronald SJ Enrile, head of PTC Talent Acquisition Group.

In the panel discussion, PTC representatives were asked about how PTC employees maintain a work-life balance. Monique Callo said “Other than the busy day-to-day work that each employee does at PTC we also take time to have fun through PTC's employee engagement activities such as summer outings, sports programs” while Arlene Ramirez added “ We have a lot of extracurricular activities and recently formed this new group called PTCitizenship where we encourage employees to participate in volunteerism activities such as coastal clean-ups and tree planting.”

The PTC TAG team looks forward to connecting young workers early on and forging relationships that may result in long-term employment for future Global Maritime Professionals.
